I began this performance to challenge the ideas surrounding sustainable cuisine. The ease, the cost (£) and most important of all, the green issues.
Gone are the days of blissful ignorance whilst shopping. I keep thinking 'Locally produced pesticides or organic food miles?' I don't think I've bought anything (edible or otherwise) for the last 56 days without considering it's green credentials. Additionally the cost wasn't really an issue, unless you're swapping everything you already buy for the supermarket organic version it works out cheaper (for me anyway).
It took creativity and serious compromise to cope for this long and I certainly told myself a few little green lies along the way. Overall if you're willing to return to home cooking with preparation and food love you can do it.
